Today, I saw an eagle flying
Colors red, and white, and blue
Today it looked like he was crying
Wondering where are all the friends
That he once knew

Today, I heard the eagle calling
It echoed from the mountains to the sea
But again lonely sounds were falling
All around on deafened ears of those not free

Chorus
And I said fly eagle fly
Go spread your freedom wings across the sky
Don’t let them bring you down
Don’t let them chain you to the ground
For you got to be strong to travel alone through the sky
So fly eagle fly

Today, I saw an eagle flying
Is he heading for the skies he’s never known
Are the freedoms that he left behind him dieing
Will our eagle find another home

And I said fly eagle fly
Go spread your freedom wings across our sky
Don’t you let them bring you down
Don’t let them chain you to the ground
For you got to be strong to travel alone through the sky
So fly you mighty eagle fly
